5k grad

Well I did it! On December 30, 2014, I ran my first full 5k! This has probably been one of my biggest personal fitness accomplishments to-date; Ok, it's probably second to losing almost 50 pounds. Training for this 5k has been huge for me. It has shown me so much about myself, that I can do anything if I put my mind to it. I started out training with my nieces, but when they went back to school, it was harder for our schedules to mesh. I could have stopped running when they did, but I didn't. I wanted to prove to myself that I could do it and I have!
On January 1st, I started the 5k-to-10k program. So far, it's going great. This morning was the beginning of Week 2 and it was INSANELY cold outside. I layered as best I could, but my face was pretty exposed. The wind made my nose run and that was NOT pretty! But I powered through and my pace was awesome!

I have been talking with a really good online friend who is a Beachbody coach. She has been an awesome cheerleader & has answered so many questions for me. She has been encouraging me to become a Beachbody coach myself and I am really thinking hard about it. I think this might be what I need to push me a little harder & further with my journey.
I've also become slightly obsessed with Shaun T. His videos are available through Beachbody and I'm contemplating purchasing Insanity Max: 30. The results are pretty amazing and I think this is another program that could push me towards my goals. I need a daily fitness program, especially since I only run 3 days a week.

And to update on my homemade beauty products venture: I made my own deodorant and LOVE it! It works great even when I run. YAY!
I also tried making my own powdered foundation and tinted moisturizer. I love the moisturizer even though it doesn't really offer much coverage. But I just can't get on board with the powdered foundation. It doesn't cover any of my redness or blemishes. I was so bummed because I wanted to like it. But there are some store bought versions that are way better than what I currently use that I can still try.
